On January 2nd, 2020, Charlie Sexton's courageous battle with Alzheimer's ended and he is now at peace. Charlie was preceded in death by his loving father John Joseph, mother Elizabeth Veronica, younger brother Tom, and his son Christopher. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Rhunette Humrich, his older brother John, his children Peter, Mary Lee, Edward, and Adia, his grandchildren Molly, Sophie, Zachary, Gwynn, Cami, Gracie, and Johnny, and his goddaughters Melissa and Amber Taylor.
Charlie was born in Baltimore, Maryland but spent much of his childhood in Oak Park, Illinois. He graduated with his B.A from Loyola University Chicago and his M.B.A. from Illinois Benedictine College. He served in the Marine Reserves and had a long career in Managerial Accounting.
Charlie will be remembered for his love of family, the joy he found in National Parks, and his devotion to social justice and helping the disadvantaged. He personally championed efforts to fight Alzheimer's by participating in clinical studies and donating his body to the Medical College of Wisconsin for research.
His loving, caring spirit lives on with those whose lives he touched in his 84 years on this earth.
The Memorial Gathering for Charles has been postponed. Please check back in the following weeks for service information.
