Born on May 2, 1928 in Burlington, Wisconsin to Elmer F. Ebert and Rose A.(McCarthy) Ebert. Passed away Nov. 26, 2007 in Knoxville, Charles is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean Ebert; sons Scott (Lisa), Gary (Jackie)and daughter Ruth (William) Maegli. He is also survived by two grandsons, Kevin and Mitchell Ebert; sisters Doris Tenpenny and Ann Zabel. Preceded in death by sisters Elisabeth Koepke, Jean Wagie, Kathlyn Wagie and Patricia Pomplun; and by brothers Donald and John. Charles was raised in Waterford and Whitewater, Wisconsin and was a World War II Navy veteran. Charles worked for Milwaukee Public Schools as a teacher and Administrator for 33 years, retiring in 1986 as Director of Transportation and Purchasing. In 1987, Charles and Jean moved to Knoxville,Tennessee where they enjoyed many years of retired life. Charles was active in many church and community organizations in Knoxville, and was instrumental in helping obtain services for senior citizens in the Knoxville area.
