Obituary

Charles (Charlie) Oliver Cortte, was called home to the Lord on March 10, 2022 at the age of 80 at St. Luke South Hospital in Cudahy. Charlie was born in Milwaukee on October 31, 1941 to Oliver and Mary (Peters) Cortte. He was second born of 5 children. Charlie joined the United States Air Force in 1961 until his honorable discharge in 1964 where he had rank of E4. In 1966 he became a Milwaukee Fire Fighter and made many friends and lifetime relations. His years as a firefighter brought him great joy and he spoke of those years quite often. He became a EMT in Milwaukee in 1978 and 1981 completed his paramedic training. Charlie enjoyed many hobbies ranging from cooking, ceramics, macrame and wood working. His passion was making stain glass items and that passion was something that lasted his entire adult life. On December 26, 1991 he was married to Thiery (Buege) Cortte. She proceeded him in death on July 13, 2020. Charlie and Thiery did many things together and loved to spend time together with friends and family. They were very involved in the George Washinton-Bay View Post No. 180, American Legion and Charlie was a past commander and chaplain. High among their favorite pastimes was fishing, crafting and woodworking. Charlie is survived by one son Daniel (Sue) Cortte and one step-son Damien Buege. He is further survived by four grandchildren, Tim (Angie), Marilyn and Zachary Cortte and Damien Buege Jr. Charlie is also survived by one brother Myron Cortte, and many nephew, nieces, cousins and close friends. Proceeding Charlie in death are his parents, Oliver and Mary (Peters) Cortte, his sisters; Audrey James and Marylin (Cortte) Johnson, his brother Michael Cortte, his brother-in-law Tom Johnson and mother and father in-law Virginia and August Ostrowski. A Memorial Gathering for Charlie will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 from 11:00AM UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE AT 1:00PM at PRASSER KLECZKA FUNERAL HOME BAY VIEW CHAPEL located at 3275 South Howell Ave in Milwaukee. We would like to extend a special thank you to the ICU doctors, nurses and staff at St. Luke's South facility in Cudahy for their wonderful and kind care extended to Charles. Rest in peace, Dad. We love you bigger than the sky.
