Obituary

September 5, 2003. The bells rang – the golden gates swung open, as Charlie in his weakened condition at age 84 was met by The Lord and with Jesus' arm to lean on and with the help of his late grandson, Ronnie Kerlin he entered eternal life. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years Clara (nee Antczak). His cherished children – "Charlie's Angels", Charlene (Ron) Kerlin, Charmaine (Joe) Christe, Charlotte (Andy) Zibolski, Charyl (Chris) Kowalinski and adopted son Christopher (Jenny) Borkowicz. Proud grandfather of David (Heather), Gary, Brian (Summer) and Michael (Jody) Kerlin, Lisa Lanza (Scott Moriarti), Sara Christy, Chad, Craig and Christopher Kowalinski, Haley and Ashley Borkowicz. Precious great-grandchildren Austin Kerlin, Leona Moriarti and Ava Kerlin. Preceded in death by his brothers Frank (the late Donna) and George (Emily) Borkowicz. Also survived by his sister Tweetie (Ralph) Meddaugh, other relatives, friends and his pal, Lucky. Visitation at the Funeral Home TUESDAY 4 – 8 PM. Charles E. Fidler Post #9469, VFW Ritual at 6:45 PM. and Parish Prayer Service at 7 PM. Visitation also WEDNESDAY after 8:45 AM. Funeral 9:30 AM to St.VERONICA CHURCH for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Entombment and Military Honors at St. Adalbert Cemetery. Reception to follow at The Patio. 1421 E. Howard Ave. Charlie was an Army Veteran of WWII serving in the European Theatre, Past president of Milwaukee Lake Lions Club, where he earned the honorary Melvin Jones Fellowship Award. He was a proud blood donor giving 57 pints. Past Commander of J.F. Kennedy American Legion Post, and Charles F. Fidler Post #9469 VFW. Member and past president of the St. Veronica Holy Name, Usher's and St. Vincent de Paul Societies. Lifetime member of the Red Arrow Division and retired MPS School Engineer. In lieu of flowers mass offerings appreciated Till we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His Hand.
