Catherine "Cathy" Wenz

Found peace on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the age of 77 years. Beloved wife of the late Raymond "Rai" for 29 years. Loving mother of Andrew (Carly) Wenz. Dear sister of Bonnie Evenson, Ginger (Tom) Van Handel, Susan Burns, the late James Burns, Bill (Kathy) Burns, and Mike (Jean) Burns. Dear sister-in-law of the late Albert (Lisa) Wenz. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

Cathy was born on May 21, 1949, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Her family later moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she graduated from Mercy High School in 1967. She was a proud, hard-working employee of AT&T (formerly Wisconsin Bell, Ameritech, and SBC) for over 35 years. She married the love of her life, Raymond, in December 1984. Together they welcomed their son, Andrew, in March 1989, building a life filled with family, laughter, and joy.

Cathy loved her family and friends, and cherished creating long-lasting memories. She was a longtime member of the South Shore Yacht Club with her husband Rai, and they enjoyed hosting family and friends on their boat, the "Mercedes Wenz." Cathy loved attending family reunions, where she would catch up with her cousins around the "fire circle." She adored spending time at "The Farm" in Elroy, Wisconsin, creating traditions of family gatherings. Often, at the farm, an extremely fun night of socializing around the fire pit would end over "kitchen beers" into the early morning hours. She also admired spending time with her sisters, cousins, and friends, berry picking, bird watching, attending craft fairs, taking a casino trip, visiting a new winery or brewery, and exploring a country road to see where it might take her.

Cathy was an avid Wisconsin sports fan. She especially enjoyed cheering on the Brewers and Packers. Above all, she loved being a mother, and she was Andrew's number-one fan, supporting him while he was both playing sports and later when he became a coach.

There was no one quite like her; her laughter, her warmth, and her devotion to family. Her bubbly personality had a way of making everyone feel welcome and loved. Cathy was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, cousin, and friend. The ache of her absence is real, but the love she left behind is stronger.

There will be a Memorial Visitation at the Funeral Home on Saturday, August 1, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Memorial Service beginning at 1:00 PM. Private interment at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
