Obituary

Carrie L. Zettel

Born in Milwaukee on July 11, 1961 and passed away in Milwaukee on Sunday, October 12, 2025, age 64 years. Beloved spouse of the late Jeffery Spors; loving mother of Jessica, Alex (Clare), and Lauren; proud grandmother of Bianca and Bradley; cherished daughter of Aleatha (nee Boesl) and the late Earl Zettel; dear sister of Dean (Lynn), Todd (Diane), and Julie Zettel; also survived by nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

She grew up near 27th Street and Grange Avenue. In 1977 Carrie gave birth to her first of three beautiful children, Jessica. After Graduating Pulaski High School, Carrie attended Alverno College and studied business. In 1990 she reconnected with Jeff Spors, who she had known in high school. The two fell in love, and purchased a house in Bay View. The two spent many happy years together until Jeff's passing in 2018.

In 2005 Carrie pursued her Masters in Oriental Medicine at the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine, where she graduated Magna cum Laude in 2008. She worked as an acupuncturist in various capacities for many years after.

Throughout her life, Carrie enjoyed many activities including gardening, enjoying nature, buying gifts for her grandchildren, biking, participating in political discourse, and spoiling her dog Bebe.

Most of all, Carrie was a helper to others in need - the weakest and most marginalized in our society - Her incredible generosity often came at great personal sacrifice to herself: She was never shy to cover your bill, even if she was short on money; she would help you shoulder a burden, no matter how heavy it was. She was a good Samaritan to all who crossed her path.

A candlelit vigil will be held on Thursday, October 16 at 7:00 PM, outside of her house at S. 23rd St. and W. Ramsey Ave.

Memorial Visitation at the Funeral Home on Saturday, October 18, 2025, 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. Memorial Service at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) are appreciated.
