Carol H. Balistreri, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the age of 89. Born on December 15, 1933, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Carol lived a life filled with love, compassion, and determination.
Carol was the cherished wife of the late Anthony P. Balistreri Sr., and together they built a beautiful family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, survived by her children Danny Balistreri, Thomas Balistreri, Anthony P. Balistreri Jr. (David R. Jones) and Melissa (Guy) Turi. Carol is also survived by her dear sister Joanne Erickson. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven T. (Jacquelin) Balistreri, and daughter, Sandra Ann Balistreri. Carol leaves behind a deep void in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she adored with all her heart. Her memory will forever be treasured by Tony, Steve, Mindi, T.J., Aimee, Matthew, Gaetano, Anthony, Ana, and her great-grandchildren Joe, Liz, Mia, Steven, Sal, and Sofia.
As a mother, Carol was exceptional, always providing her children with unwavering support and guidance. She embraced the challenges of motherhood with grace, ensuring each child felt special and loved. Carol was a beacon of strength, a pillar of patience, and taught her children the values of compassion and resilience. She was a jack of all trades, long before Google or YouTube, if you needed help fixing something, installing a garbage disposal, eliminating a stain on your fabric blouse, Carol was the person to call.
Carol's professional journey led her to Froedtert Hospital, where she worked in the mailroom and Transport Department. Recognizing a need, she established her own delivery service, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit and determination. Carol's dedication and work ethic served as an inspiration to those around her.
Her home was a place of love and warmth, where her Sunday pasta gatherings brought family and friends closer. She had an infectious laugh, a welcoming demeanor, and treated everyone like family. Carol will always be remembered for her ability to make others feel special and loved.
Visitation in honor of Carol's life will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Prasser-Kleczka Funeral Home-South Suburban Chapel. A reflective and heartfelt funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m.
