Bryan Raymond Freeman
Bryan Raymond Freeman was born August 13, 1968 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and died unexpectedly on July 23, 2020 in Franklin, Wisconsin at the age of 51. He was a devoted and loving son to the late Raymond Arthur Freeman and Ginet (nee Santiago) and Scott Wolters. He was the protective brother to Dr. Janice Litza (nee Freeman) and Estelle Wolters and is further survived by his Goddaughter and niece, Samantha Litza, nephew Warren C. Litza II, his Godparents, Alba Santiago and Angel Santiago and his faithful companion a Beagle named Whisper.
He was a graduate of Oak Creek High School class of 1986 and known for his wrestling skills. He went on to serve 2 years active duty in U.S. Army and then pursued his passion to become a teacher. Once he graduated UW-Milwaukee with a Bachelors in Science in 1994, he began a 26 year career with Milwaukee Public Schools as an elementary grade teacher and pursued further education by obtaining his Masters of Science in Administrative Leadership and Supervision in Education from UW-Milwaukee in 2001. He was further recognized for his dedication to education by completion of MPS/UWM Emerging Leaders Program in 2013 and became a vice-principal for 4 years.
He is gone far too soon and will be lovingly remembered for his wit and humor as well as his love for dogs by the many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and students that will carry his legacy. Thank you Ascension Franklin Hospital for the compassionate care to our family, particularly the emergency department staff and administration. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wisconsin Humane Society and Oak Creek American Legion Post #434. A celebration of Bryan's life will take place a later date.
Bryan's gentle, witty and humble character will continue to play a role in the stories of his students, friends, and loving family. He will be fondly remembered for his creative and elaborate Halloween costumes and for his intellectual curiosity sparked by a passion for science fiction, documentaries, and crossword puzzles. Bryan couldn't let a good story be told without his room brightening smile and laughter. He is reunited with Jack, Rock, and Dino, his pack of faithful canine companions and his beagle, Whisper, has been adopted by Bryan's sister, Janice.
