Bruce Robert Tate, 78, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, in Milwaukee, WI. Born on November 10, 1947, Bruce lived a life rich with love, dedication, and optimism.

A proud graduate of Whitefish Bay High School and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Bruce was a fraternity brother of Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE). His professional journey spanned decades as a commercial mortgage banker at Associated Bank, where he built a fulfilling and successful career.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Martine; his dear children, Michael Tate and Maggie Tate. Loving Papa to his cherished grandchildren, KJ and Kileigh. Proud grandpa to James and Lainey. Favorite uncle to nephew Brian Tate and niece Kim Barker. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Cordelia Tate; his brother, Barry Tate; sister-in-law, Belinda Tate; and much-loved stepdaughter, Valerie Powers.

An avid reader, a book was never far from his reach. Bruce found joy in simple yet profound moments-spending time at Wavecrest while marveling at the beauty of a Door County sunset. Above all else, he treasured time spent with Martine, the love of his life and his wife of thirty-two years. Known for his unwavering positivity, Bruce had a signature response whenever asked how he was: "I'm terrific."

He was very grateful for his thirty-nine years of sobriety, not for his own sake but because of the opportunity it gave him to touch others' lives and help them find their own path to a better way of life.

Bruce's memory will forever be a source of comfort to those who knew him. May we carry forward his optimism and appreciation for life's quiet wonders in our own lives.

Yes Jeanne (my dearest friend) you get full credit for bringing us together.

A private celebration of Bruce's remarkable life will be held at a later date.
