Bobbie would serve as much as she could. She first served God through her faith. She was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church located on West Capitol Drive where she served on the Usher Board for over 20 years. She worked at Project Focal Point, a community Recreational Center, and even after retiring, Bobbie continued her service for the seniors and the community who inhabited the recreational center. Bobbie loved music. Her musical taste was full of variety ranging from black blues singers like Clarence Carter, Al Green, B.B. King to R&B like Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5, Mary J. Blige, gospel artists and the list goes on. She would often crochet as a hobby or to pass time.

Bobbie was someone special to everyone that truly knew her. Bobbie Jewel Benton was Bobbie the Mom, Sister, friend, and to many she was Aunt Bobbie. Bobbie always put God and family first. She taught family never fights ever, and to always have faith in God. She served in the church for most of her life, and committed to working in a community recreational center where she provided positive spirits to senior citizens, and families of the community. The community, as well as family and friends knew that Bobbie love her family very much, and we all love and cherish her dearly. We have all been left with the treasure of memories of Bobbie. She had the heart to accept you as you are, and the ability to see who you could be. She would always give advice and guidance whenever she could. We will miss those wise words you gave, all the times you made yourself available for us to lean on, all of your loving energy, and we will miss all the serious and fun games of Spades.
Bobbie had the personality of an angel. She was very thoughtful and considerate, as she always remembered everyone at Christmas. She dedicated her whole life to taking care of others. She birthed 6 kids, but was a mother to everyone who needed her to be. We're going to miss her laugh and smile. Rest well Bobbie, we love you.
