Obituary

Bernardo Hernandez Jr., 77, of Milwaukee WI. Sadly, left us on Monday March 18th, 2024.

He was born on December 16, 1946, in Crystal City Tx, the son of Bernardo Hernandez Sr. and Olivia Moncada. Dad was known as "Ben", "Lalo", and "El Venado" by family and friends.

He graduated from barber school in the 1960's and continued as a family and friend barber for years.

In 1971, he married Aurora Hernandez and moved to Milwaukee WI seeking a better life and future for his family. He landed a job working for Briggs & Stratton as a Machine Operator for 30yrs.

Throughout his life as a young kid into his adult life, dad had a love for baseball and played for the 55+ Adult softball leagues where his team took the championship. He especially liked his Tejano music which brought out the dancer in him. He was known to be the first one on the dance floor and all eyes on him and mom dancing the night away.

Dad also had a love for playing pool! Taught by our grandpa, dad would play for local bars dominating anyone who stepped to the table. Dad was a pool shark till the end.

His presence will be deeply missed by: Aurora Hernandez, beloved wife of 52 years, dear father of Michelle Hernanadez, Yvette Jankowski (Dave Jankowski), Bernardo Hernandez III. Grandfather of Robert Burdette Jr., Demari Melendrez (Leo Flores), Elias Melendrez (Sativa Flores), Ryan Burdette, Jacob Hernandez, and Ramero Marquez. Great grandfather to Giselle, Isabella, Jewell, Savion, Ryan, Norah, and Zion.
