(Nee Collins) of Bay View (Milwaukee), Wisconsin passed away on Thursday June 4, 2015 at the age of 72. Beloved wife of Thomas Shattuck. Dear mother of Mark (Audrey) Norris and Shelly (Scott) Kaido. Step-mother of Cathy (Marty) Delano of Elm Grove, WI and Debbie (Todd) Hagler of Las Vegas, NV. She leaves behind sister Wanda (Thomas) Reingardt and Dennis Collins. Barbara is further survived by grandchildren Moriah and Malachiah Norris, Ashley (Michael) Perez, Morgan (Chris) Seals, Hannah Kaido and several great grandchildren. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Rollie Sr. and Edna Collins and brother Rollie Jr (Sharon) Collins. Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday June 11, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 PM. Funeral Services at 7:00 PM. Barbara was born in Jasper, AR, but spent her formative years growing up in Sycamore, IL. She was involved in many extra-curricular activities throughout her school years and was a state champion at trampoline. Upon completion of high school, Barbara attended classes at Purdue and obtained her certification as a registered technologist in radiography from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, which she maintained through the 1980's. Barbara was employed at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb, IL as an X-Ray technician and was also an instructor to radiography students of Kishwaukee Community College in Malta, IL during that time. In 1984 Barbara re-married and moved to Milwaukee, WI where she lived out the remainder of her life. She entered the health insurance sector in 1986 as a claims adjustor and joined TIME Insurance, which was later acquired by Assurant Health, a few years later. She remained employed by Assurant until retiring in August of 2007. Barbara enjoyed her family, her dogs, baking, gardening and being creative. Her hobbies included painting her Victorian house, oil painting, rosemaling, quilling and making centerpieces and decorations for weddings. She liked traveling and shopping and especially enjoyed going to state fair and other festivals and activities each summer.
