Barbara Ellen Ode (nee Statz) passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2021, age 85 years. Beloved wife of the late Deacon LeRoy Ode. Dear sister of Carol McCann, Marjorie (Richard) Craemer and William (Kathleen) Statz. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Bernadine Statz; siblings, Henry (Phyllis) Statz, Julie (Richard) Lansing and brother-in-law Thomas McCann. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation on Saturday, February 27, 2021, 12 Noon-1:00 P.M. at St. Jerome Parish, 995 S. Silver Lake Street, Oconomowoc. Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM. Private entombment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. If desired, memorials can be made to the charity of your choosing. Barbara was a graduate of Portage High School in 1953, she entered the Dominican Convent in Sinsinawa, WI for about a year. Barbara returned home to Portage then moved to Milwaukee where she began working at Milwaukee Children's Hospital. Barbara met LeRoy Ode through her church work as a choir member, organist and as a eucharistic minister. They married on August 10, 1974 in Milwaukee. LeRoy later became an ordained Deacon. In her lifetime of service, she did home health care and also became a foster grandparent for the Interfaith program.
