Barbara Ann Jamel (nee Luljak), aged 88 years.
Barbara's eternal journey began on Thursday, May 14th, at home surrounded by her children. Raised in Cudahy, WI, daughter of Peter and Emily Luljak, Barbara was a devout Catholic with a deep spiritual faith and a heart of gold. She leaves behind memories of her pride and joy, her children, Julianne (Rebecca), Jim (Kaye), and Jon (Karin). Her spirit will live on with her grandchildren Jared, Ean, Madelyn (Lucas), Iris and Eliana and great-grandson Cooper. Her life overflowed with love, care and compassion which will continue in the lives of her children, their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandson.
She will be missed on daily morning calls with her sisters Carol and Mary, and we're sure she's catching her late brother Robert up on what he's been missing. She takes with her a love of Frank Sinatra, history, especially the civil war, gangster movies, Bonanza, and a ferocious appetite for reading. With a sweet tooth that would rival anyone, and a life's long pursuit of the best spaghetti and meatballs, matzo ball soup, and turtle sundaes, we all say goodbye.
We carry heavy hearts, but know she will live within all of those who loved her. It is now our honor to carry on the wacky and immensely wonderful life she shared with all that knew her. She would be happy to know we laughed with her at the end, thinking her last words might be, "how'd that happen?" but actually were, "Julie, C'mon!".
Now watch over all of us and know your incredible journey finished well. We love you so much momma...ciao!
