Cherished grandpa of Tony Jr. Dear brother-in-law of the late William (Barbara) Hanfeld, Carolyn Signer, Joseph Hanfeld, Lois (Bernard) Farrey and Norman (Mary Jean) Hanfeld. Preceded in death by his sister Nancy (the late Thomas) Miller and parents August and Agnes Selan. Further survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, godchildren, other family members and friends.

Augie proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was retiree of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel after 37 years in the circulation department. He was a life time member of George Washington Bay View Post #180, American Legion and a seven time Past-Commander of George Washington Post #2, American Legion. Throughout his life Augie enjoyed bowling, baseball, gardening, visiting with neighbors and his dogs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Divine Mercy Text Book Fund or the Fisher House of Wisconsin at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Center, 5000 W. National Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53295.
