Obituary

With a heart full of love and a life well-lived, Audrey Florence Burns will be remembered by family and friends as a beacon of kindness and warmth. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on December 16, 1926, Audrey peacefully entered eternal life on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the remarkable age of 98.

Audrey was the cherished wife of the late Robert Burns, with whom she shared an extraordinary love since their marriage in 1949. Together, they nurtured a beautiful family, which included their beloved daughter, Diane Gallas; and their late children, Linda Kohn-Koppa, John (Donna) Burns, and Jim Burns. She adored her grandchildren, who brought her immense joy: Kimberly (Dave) Wuthenow, Jason (Jennifer) Burns, Paul (Laura) Gallas, Brianna (Ryan) Weissman, Andrew Gallas, Joey (Amanda) Burns, Shawn (Katie) Burns, Kristopher Kohn, and Jacob Burns. Audrey's legacy continues to thrive in the hearts of her great-grandchildren: Berkley, Ryder, Jayden, Jackson, John, Cece, Faith, MacKenzie, and Jayce.

Audrey's life was filled with moments of laughter and love. After graduating high school, she worked at Jewel Grocery Store, where she forged lasting friendships. As a devoted homemaker, her nurturing spirit shone through in everything she did-from her delectable baking to her love of the casino. Audrey's passion for reading provided her with many fulfilling hours, later transitioning to enjoying audiobooks. She will also be fondly remembered for her love of the Milwaukee Brewers. In addition to her immediate family, Audrey was predeceased by her parents, Edwin and Florence, her sister, June, and her brother, Bud. She leaves behind a loving circle of nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Audrey's life was truly a celebration of love, kindness, and appreciation for the simple joys, and she will be remembered for her unyielding support and gentle spirit. She survived the loss of her husband and 3 of her 4 children yet her faith never waivered. She remained hopeful, optimistic and kind.
