Arlene Joan Wood (nee Watts)

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at age 93 years. Beloved wife of Robert "Woody" Wood, married for 66 years. Loving mother of Gary (Shelly) Wood, Michael Wood, Wendy (Brian) Lambel, and Jodi Thornton. Cherished grandmother of Brandon (Kristin) Wood, Dustin (Stevi) Wood, Jacob Wood, Josie Wood, Jaime (Jesse) Shay, Callie Wood, Jeffery Boals, Jackson Wood, Emily (Curt Schoob) Thornton, and Ian Thornton. Dear great-grandmother of Gianni, Arielle, Lily, William, Hudson, Leona, Ivy, Oaklee, Aliya, Banks, Saint, Quinten, Gabrielle, Kameron, and Sydney. Loving aunt of Sheri (the late Joseph) Bell, Jill (Frank) McAllister, Mark Wrobel, Natalie and Kyle Wroblewski. Special friend to Pauline Dziedzic, Audrey Laskiewicz, and the late Gertie. Further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Irma Watts, sisters Audrey (Eugene) Wrobel, Margarie (Jack) Bittl, brother Dale Watts, nephew Scott Bittl, and son Jeffrey Wroblewski.

Arlene wore a cap of many colors, and she donated hundreds of her knit newborn caps to a nearby hospital. Arlene taught us how to care and tend with patience and determination over gardening, recipes, and weeks at the cabin; to share and pretend with benevolence and imagination through cards, hugs, and playful mischief; to grow up, show up, slow down, and love. Full of vibrant youth and venerable wisdom, Arlene filled all with a light that will forever remain.

Memorial Visitation at the Funeral Home on Monday, April 14, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Memorial Service starting at 1:00 PM. Inurnment to follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
