Arlene L. Stuermer (nee Schulz)

Passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2026 at the age of 98 years. Beloved wife of the late Donald Stuermer, married for 71 years. Loving mother of Duane Stuermer (Sonja Rein), Daryl (the late Michaela) Stuermer, and Valerie (Rob) Walker. Cherished grandmother of Devin and Ryan Stuermer; Kelly Stuermer Keane and Fiona Stuermer; Alex, Joseph, and Christina Walker. Great-grandmother of Rebecca, Avery, Justin, Declan, Jackson, Cooper Walker; Maddie Neuenfeldt; Sophie, Lily, and Daisy Keane. Sister of Joanne (Gordon) Zimmerman and the late Kenneth Schulz. Aunt of the late Richard, Carol, Janet Moore; Kathy Nawrocki; Pam Schulz, and Randy Schulz.

Arlene was born on June 26, 1927 to her parents Reinhardt and Lisetta Schulz and grew up on the family farm in the Town of Concord, Wisconsin. She attended a one room school house from grade school all the way through high school. Shortly after she graduated high school, Arlene courageously left the family farm and moved to Milwaukee to enroll in Beautician School where she met her future husband, Don. After Beautician School, Arlene and Don married in July of 1949. They had three children together and she stayed home to raise them. Later on, she went to work for Franciscan Villa as a Dietician the remainder of her working years.

Arlene was known for her ability to take care of all sorts of plants and flowers around the house and in her beautiful garden. She was also talented with both baking and cooking, making many foods from scratch, just like she did on the farm. Arlene and Don both followed their faith as devout Lutherans, being members at St. Mark's in Cudahy. They spent their later years together at Eastcastle Place, where Arlene was known as "The Plant Lady," continuing her hobby of taking care of plants and flowers.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
