Parr, Antoinette M. (ne Costa), age 95, died Friday, November 20, 2009, among her family and under the dedicated care of Vitas Hospice workers. Antoinette was born September 23, 1914, in Rossiter, Pennsylvania. Always an independent thinker and an advocate for human rights, she was married for 36 years to Phil Parr, who died in 1976. In the past two decades, Antoinette devoted many hours to volunteering in the Milwaukee Public Schools, where the children came to know her as "Grandma Parr." She is survived by her sister Mickey; her sons John (Donna) and Robert (Susan); her grandchildren Cris, David, Treva, Philip (Carrie), and Kiara; and extended family and friends. Antoinette is remembered with great love by the people whose lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Teaching Tolerance or toward student scholarships at SUPAR, Inc.
