Annelle Lieske, 74, passed away on the morning of November 6, 2021. Loving mother to Joa, her husband Vincent O'Connor, her son Thomas Martin, and granddaughter Ella Martin. Beloved sister to Robert (Shirley) Lieske and John (Darlene) Lieske. She will be missed by many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Annelle wore many hats in her lifetime: Daughter, Sister, Niece, Aunt, Friend, Mother and Grandmother. She grew up in Milwaukee, attended Bay View H.S. and Layton School of the Arts. Layton paved her way to New York City and the School of Visual Arts; where she honed her eye and skill learning from today's great contemporary artists.
The relationships built in NY took her snake hunting in a VW Bus, the historic Max's KC restaurant where she briefly worked and earned the nickname 'Legs,' and later in life a trip to Paris! Annelle settled for a short while in El Paso, TX, before returning to Milwaukee as her budding family began to grow. It is in Milwaukee Annelle raised her children.
Love was always the center of our home. Annelle always made sure our family had what we needed and instilled the life lessons to attain more. She loved and reminded us often of her favorite hymn - What A Friend We Have In Jesus - and how reciting the 23rd Psalm could get her through the darkest of times.
With so many experiences to share we each picked one.
- 'If you believe it will fit, it will' - one of Joa's favorite lessons from her Mom - as Annelle would cram 14 H.S. Freshman into her Dodge Omni to get them to Rocky Rocco's.
- Annelle earned special Grandma status by introducing Ella to her first Leon's custard
Annelle carried a remarkable gift to truly see people. Through all the walls and layers, she saw YOU and could connect with anyone at their level. She would help you see the gifts and talents you have to offer. People gravitated to her for her time, a drawing, her sense of humor and her storieas.
Annelle did not want a formal service; however, she did want those she loved and loved her to gather and share their experiences. A gathering in Annelle's memory will be held in the near future. Please contact her children for details.
