Obituary

Alica Mae Adsit passed away peacefully Wednesday December 24th, 2025 at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa Wisconsin. She was 57.

Alica was born March 21st, 1968 in Viroqua Wisconsin, and grew up in Richland Center and Middleton, WI. She lived for some time in Phoenix AZ, returning to Wisconsin most recently to be closer to family during her courageous battle with illness.

She is preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Walter & Peggy Adsit; her stepfather and mother, Dean & Alice Rischmueller (nee McCord); her brother James Walter Adsit, as well as her best friend Mike.

All those who knew Alica remember her deep faith and her love for her family. As she strove to help those around her she was an inspiration of kindness. Her smile could light up a room. She often sent thoughtful gifts and kept in touch, even preparing for this holiday in advance despite her illness. She was always willing to help a person in need whenever she could, volunteering at places that fed the homeless, giving, helping and teaching others to do the same. She was a talented artist and loved to create and draw as her time allowed. She liked to cook, and spend a quiet evening watching a good period drama or reading. She loved cats and was devoted to helping animals in need. She fostered many cats. Those who knew her a long time or a short time all remark of her gentle spirit. We will miss her so much.

She will remain beloved in so many hearts, including her dear daughters Melissa, Stephanie, and also Tayler whom she loved like her own; brothers Rick Adsit and Mike Adsit of Richland Center, and Billy Adsit of Milwaukee; sisters Susan (Andy) Hofer of Richland Center, Carole Adsit of Oak Harbor WA, and Kathy Adsit (Chris Kraco) of Milwaukee; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family is planning a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers they ask that you consider a donation in Alica's name to your local animal shelter or Second Hand Purrs Cat Shelter, 4300 S. Howell Av, Milwaukee WI 53207, www.secondhandpurrs.org .
