Alice was a proud 1943 graduate of Girls Tech High School. She was a check-out clerk at the 13th Street Sentry Foods for many years. She was a member of St. Helen Parish for 70 years where she sang in the choir, was a former Girl Scout leader and a founding member of its 55 and Over Club. She was involved in many other parish and school activities. She was well-known for creating beautiful Polish Easter eggs, which she freely shared with anyone who admired them. No holiday was complete without Nanny's pierogi. She was very proud of being awarded the Mayor's Beautification Award for the glorious flowers surrounding her 13th St. home.
