On August 30th, Al found peace and was reunited with his beloved Rosie (née Poff). Also preceding him in death, his parents, Joseph and Genevieve (née Siedlecki) Levandoski.
He is survived by his loving daughter Jessica (Vince) Bontempo, and James (Amy Hjelm) Cammack. Proud "Papa Al" to his grandchildren David, Alexa, Nick and Nicolas. He was the eldest of his three surviving brothers Fabian (Stephanie), Chris (Kathy), Mathew (Debbi); and is further survived by many other family and friends that he loved dearly.
Al was born in Detroit and early in his life his family relocated to the Milwaukee area for better opportunities. After graduating from Boys Tech High School (1966) he enlisted in the Marine Corps and proudly served his country, including a tour in Vietnam.
Al was a decorated Marine who received the Purple Heart among many other Military awards. After four years as an active duty Marine, he joined the Marine reserves and later the Army reserves where he served until his retirement in 2007 reaching the rank of 1st Sergeant.
Al followed his father's footsteps and worked on the railroad for his entire professional career, starting as a fireman and became an engineer. He was a backyard builder of things, having every size washer, nut, bolt, screw, nail known to man - among countless other parts and pieces.
Honor, courage and commitment sums up the man that he was. He loved his family beyond words and was a provider, an advice giver, a wise-cracker, and one of the most hard-working people around. And...he was stubborn as hell!
Rest easy Al. You will be missed.
